Child Migration Visa
Introduction
The child migration visa allows Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens to sponsor their children to immigrate to Australia. Depending on the child’s age, type of relationship, and application location.
Child Migration Visa Categories
- Child Visa (Subclass 101/802)
- 101 visa(Offshore Application): For children sponsored by their parents (Australian citizens or permanent residents) to migrate to Australia. The child must apply from outside Australia.
- 802 Visa(Onshore Application): For children sponsored by their parents (Australian citizens or permanent residents) to migrate to Australia. The child must apply from within Australia.
- Adoption Visa (Subclass 102)
- For children under 18 years old who have been or will be adopted by Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens.
- Note: If the adoption occurred before the sponsor obtained Australian status, the child must apply for the Subclass 101 visa.
Visa Selection Guide
- Child is outside Australia → Apply for 101 visa
- Child is inside Australia→ Apply 802 visa
- Adopted child → Apply for 102 visa
